Don’t Cheat and Expect it to Work

20140105-183715.jpg

So tonight I allowed myself a cheat meal since we were invited to a relatives home for a family bday. I can tell you, not even worth the cheat. I’m glad I could eat and enjoy myself rather than saying “no I can’t eat this or that.” Honestly though, I think I would have been better off, it wasn’t worth the cheat to me because there wasn’t anything remotely healthy about what we ate…and now of course my stomach is angry and I feel tired instead of energized!

What I’m taking away from this is that cheat meals go against everything you are working towards and unless it’s healthy in someway, it’s just not worth it…not even once a week.

My goal is to change my taste buds, get to where my unhealthy staples are a thing of the past. This was a setback…and though I can work off the extra calories with a workout…I feel like I just turned my body back into a garbage can.

Wanting examples…1 lg slice all meat pizza, chips w/dip, cake…none of that sounds appetizing anymore!

This is what happens when you change your diet…you really can crave healthy foods that taste good and make you feel great! This was a good reminder.

Hello Everyone! "Integrity is not only about making commitments, but keeping them long after the mood we made the commitment in has gone. It is about decisions and actions we make on a daily basis, and that which we do when no one is watching." My name is Kavita and welcome to my holistic health and wellness blog. Not being a stranger to extreme life struggles, I have over time mastered the art of self neglect, though eagerly put others first. Now, as I near closer to entering a new chapter of my life, one day starting a family of my own...I am committed to using my knowledge of nutrition and exercise paired with my love of learning and personal growth, to make long-term changes. Lifestyle changes are not temporary, they are changes that are made little by little until life's tool box is full of resources for healthy living. When these resources are identified, implemented, and practiced...you can achieve success in anything you put your mind to. I have always wanted to be athletic, always aspired to do more than my mind led me to believe I could. Inside...without looking in the mirror or stepping on a scale...that's where I want to be a fit girl. When we find our inner fit girl, it will blossom outwards. Always having struggled with my weight and a battle of eating for comfort and immediate satisfaction, I am dedicated to using food for fuel and nourishment. The food we eat and the ways we make our bodies move must be modes for satisfaction that is on going. If you have goals, perhaps you have been setting them, you write them down on December 31st, hit it hard in the gym the first week of every year, plan your meals well during all of January...and then, something creates a hiccup in the road. So easily, your goals slip through the cracks. Follow me as I incorporate small changes on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis that add up to big results. Here, our goals are dreams with deadlines. I'm a registered nurse with my Bachelors and I am confident that my nursing background, life experience, desire, and enthusiasm will propel me forward as I start this journey. If I am blessed to achieve my goals and granted the honor of helping a few others along the way, than my efforts would have been more than worth it. Please feel free to follow my blog, leave me messages, ask questions, leave advice or encouragement, and recommend innerfitgirl to your friends and family. Find and nourish your inner fit girl, true fitness starts from inside you. Best of luck!
